Easter cards with a soft spring shimmer

For Christians, Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus and is the most important day of the church year. It is also a beloved spring holiday for families of all kinds, with church services, egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, decorated eggs and long lunches. It sits right where winter finally gives way to blossom and light.

Spring Eggs card design: gold foil on sage card
Spring Eggs Gold foil on sage card

Easter cards go to grandparents, godparents, children and friends, carrying messages of hope, joy, renewal and new beginnings. Some include a blessing; others are pure fun about chocolate and egg hunts. A photo of the kids with their baskets or a bowl of painted eggs, finished in pearl foil on pastel paper, feels just right.

Design idea

Upload a photo of the kids' painted eggs in a basket or a vase of tulips and daffodils, crop it square, and choose "Details" so the egg patterns and petals turn to pearl foil on blush paper. For a little bunny fun, try "A colour" on a pastel shade with gold foil on sage.

  • Pearl foil
  • Blush paper

When to send it

Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox, so it moves between late March and late April. Orthodox churches use a different calendar, and their Easter is often a week or more later.

Links work for 90 days and open in any browser, so it arrives the moment you send it, wherever they are.

Questions

What do you write in an Easter card?

A simple Happy Easter plus wishes for joy, hope and a lovely spring is always welcome. For religious friends and family, you might add a blessing about the resurrection. For kids, playful lines about egg hunts and chocolate work best.

Can I send an Easter card to someone who isn't religious?

Yes. Many people celebrate Easter as a spring holiday focused on family, food and egg hunts. Keep the message light, wishing them a happy Easter and a lovely long weekend, and leave out religious language if you are unsure.
