Turn any photo into a gold foil card

Upload a picture, choose what catches the light, and write a note inside. Send it with a link, and they get a card that shimmers as they tilt it.

Gold, silver, rose gold, copper, pearl and holographic foil.

Three steps, about a minute

  1. 1

    Add a picture

Upload, drag in or paste a photo or drawing. Crop it to portrait, square or landscape, or start from one of our designs.

  2. 2

    Choose your foil

Turn the fine details, the shadows or a single color into foil, add a foil border, and pick the metal and the paper.

  3. 3

    Write it and send it

Write your note inside, sign it, and make a link. Share it anywhere: they tap the card to open it.

Start from a design

Every design has its own foil, paper and a little motif that repeats inside and on the back. Tap one to make it yours.

Made to feel like paper

  • Foil that moves

The card is rendered in 3D, so the foil catches the light as they drag it round, just like the real thing in your hand.

  • A real fold

Tap to open it. Your note is waiting inside, and the back has its own little foil mark.

  • Six foils, eleven papers

Gold, silver, rose gold, copper, pearl and holographic, on stocks from cotton white to kraft, sage and hot pink.

  • Private by default

Your photo stays in your browser until you make a link. Links last 90 days, card pages are hidden from search engines, and you can delete a card at any time.

Questions

Is Foil Studio free?

Yes. Making and sending cards is free, and you don't need an account.

Does the person I send it to need an app?

No. The card opens in any modern browser, straight from WhatsApp, iMessage, Messenger, Telegram, email or a text message.

How long does a card link last?

Each link stays open for 90 days, then the card and its pictures are deleted automatically.

Can I delete a card after sending it?

Yes. From the same browser you made it in, choose Delete this card and the link stops working straight away.

Who can see my photo?

Your photo stays in your browser while you design. It is only uploaded when you make a link, and then only people with that link can open the card. Card pages are hidden from search engines.

What kind of photo works best?

Pictures with clear shapes and contrast: illustrations, flowers, pets, line art or a portrait against a plain background. You can choose whether the details, the shadows or one color turns to foil.
